In this service-learning project UH Moores School of Music students design, compose, and perform a musical production for children with sensory sensitivities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder as part of the Hobby Center for the Performing ArtsSensory-Friendly Discovery Series. It will include pre-show centers and meet-and-greet for the field trip student matinee and the evening family performance. Focusing on the needs of this community, the show is engaging, entertaining, and educational. The main characters “Rondo” and “Aria” play a boardgame that takes them to different parts of the world where they encounter five instrument families and styles of music. Each student will receive a jingle bell; a reoccurring song allows students to sing along and participate with their jingles throughout the performance.
