Coming up in Spring 2018

Part public performance, part public installation, Shelter in Place will entail making tintype portraits of individuals within several Houston communities and then immediately affixing those portraits to a temporary sculptural structure. In the wake of the recent hurricane, the building of the shelter will be a real-time expression of community-building and recovery. The portraits, done in a style for which Keliy Anderson-Staley has become nationally recognized, will each be a powerful representation of an individual. The completed house-like building will be a compelling sculptural object and a portrait of a community.
