Karyn Olivier

Karyn Olivier, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago, received her M.F.A. at Cranbrook Academy of Art and her B.A in psychology at Dartmouth College. Olivier has participated in the Gwangju Biennial (Korea) and in 2009 mounted two public art projects. Olivier has also participated in exhibitions at the Studio Museum in Harlem, Momenta Gallery (Brooklyn), the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, Real Art Ways (Hartford, CT) and the Uferhallen in Berlin. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Time out New York, The Village Voice, Art in America, Mousse, Frieze, among others. Olivier’s work is in the permanent collection of the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She is currently an assistant professor of sculpture at Tyler School of Art.
