Artists Up Close presents a film screening of The Birdpeople with filmmaker Michael Gitlin. The screening is in conjunction with the Blaffer Gallery exhibition, Jean Luc Mylayne (September 8 - November 10), Mylane's first solo museum exhibition in the United States.

Presented by the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Blaffer Gallery, the Art Museum of the University of Houston, Artists Up Close is a series of lectures, performances, and engagements with artists currently featured in exhibitions at the Blaffer Gallery. The goal of the Artists Up Close series is to extend the exhibition beyond the museum walls.
