For the Spring 2008 installment of Artists Up Close, in conjunction with the exhibition Chantal Akerman: Moving Through Time and Space, the series takes the form of a Contemporary Salon.  The discussion will be led by Bill Arning, Curator at MIT List Visual Arts Center and Terrie Sultan, Director of Blaffer Gallery, plus other special guests.

The exhibition will remain open between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm for viewing prior to the Contemporary Salon.

Presented by the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Blaffer Gallery, the Art Museum of the University of Houston, "Artists Up Close" is a series of lectures, performances, and engagements with artists currently featured in exhibitions at the Blaffer Gallery. The goal of the "Artists Up Close" series is to extend the exhibition beyond the museum walls.
